Ghostly proudly presents SCHOOL OF SEVEN BELLS

l_25e822fa5e0e4c0c903f4acf89420c11“School of Seven Bells, from Brooklyn, is a drone-loving band formed by the guitarist Benjamin Curtis, formerly of Secret Machines. It gets booming beats from laptops, echoing chords from the guitar and lilting harmony vocals from the sisters Alejandra and Claudia Deheza, for a promising blend of the psychedelic and the futuristic.”-New York Times

Ann Arbor, MI based avant-pop indie label Ghostly International has teamed up with two venerable brands, Toyota and Turner Broadcasting to release a free 19 song compilation available now on the [adult swim] site. All the songs on the compilation are brand new and feature artists such as new signings The Chap and Michna, stalwarts Ben Benjamin, Matthew Dear and Dabrye, and new friends Milosh and School of Seven Bells. Ghostly retains the recording and publishing rights to the music, and may choose to give it a physical release once Adult Swim’s two month exclusive is up. This compilation follows in a line of collaborations between [adult swim] and Definitive Jux and Stones Throw. “We’re quite excited about collaborations such as this,” said Ghostly Director of Publishing and Licensing, Jeremy Peters. “Partnering up with brands to release great new music in interesting ways, be it with a compilation like this, providing the soundtrack for a product release, or using our depth of catalog to provide the ambience for a film, a whole series worth of television, or video game is something we not only are willing, but are quite excited to do.” Go and download the free album here, and it’s available for license on you next project on HANK™ too!

Mobius Band short circuits keyboards, lands album in Hank

The Mobius Band are set to release their new album “Heaven” and after listening to it – it’s the far and away the best work I have heard from them. I can’t tell you how amazing this record is, beyond that – instrumental versions are also available of all the new songs!! The album is poppy, experimental and is laden with amazing hooks and swells. One of the most unique sounds is the sound that they played with on this album – short circuiting keyboards. Hard to explain, great to listen to – check it out.
